FasTracKids International once again participated in Jumpstart’s annual campaign titled Read For The Record!  FasTracKids Centers were a part of the crusade of reading the same book on the same day in hopes of setting a new world record while bringing awareness to the crisis in early literacy.

On October 7, 2010, FasTracKids helped reach a new record by reading The Snowy Day, by Ezra Jack Keats in 16 different countries.  Jumpstart reported that 2,057,513 children heard the story of Peter and his adventures in the snow.

Investing in Life Skills

What should a child be able to do before he or she reaches elementary school?  This argument is different on a country, culture and even family expectation bases.  Sometimes the concentration is centered on reading and memorization, such as learning the letters of the alphabet.  Sometimes there is more emphasis on basic math and science, like learning how to count to 10.  Although these are all important subjects in molding a child’s mind, developing life skills is often overlooked.

Promoting Creativity

What is the first thought that comes to mind when looking at a blanket?  An adult can look at a blanket and see it as a way to keep warm.  A child can look at that same blanket and see a cape for a super hero, a ceiling for a fortress or material to make fairy wings.  There is very little that can compare to the imagination of a child.

Brazil Franchise Expo

Most people that attended the expo had never heard of FasTracKids before, but nearly everyone that stopped by the booth found FasTracKids to be a unique, cutting-edge educational program.  They were surprised by how much information children learn and absorb at such a young age.  Their realization supports independent research showing that the most important learning years for children are from zero to eight years old.  It is during these years in a child’s life that vital brain connections are formed.  The more connections that form in a young child’s mind, the greater that child’s capacity for learning will be.
